Dr Norman Siu and Macau delegation to the 2018 GIC International Jewellery Academic Annual Conference, Hubei University of Technology and CTF Jewellery Park, Wuhan, China
Dr Norman Siu, IAJMPP co-founder, and Mr Tommy Tsui, IAJMPP core member, were invited to be the tutors of a professional competence-based comprehensive training course「珠寶檢測和認證、珠寶品牌策略和商品企劃、珠寶設計及表達技巧專業能力」which was jointly organised by Macau Goldsmith’s Guild (澳門金業同業公會) and Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (澳門生產力暨科技轉移中心). One of the course activities was a field trip in China. In October 2018, Dr Norman Siu led the Macau delegation to attend the 2018 Wuhan GIC International Jewellery Academic Annual Conference. Right after the GIC Conference, the delegates went to the School of Industry Design, Hubei University of Technology and visited their newly furnished jewellery craft studio. In the visit of Chow Tai Fook (CTF) Jewellery Park, the delegates learnt about the automated mechanisation and smart technology. Both visits were a fantastic experience and the reward was very fruitful.
During the Wuhan trip, Dr Norman Siu was very glad to meet IAJMPP honorary advisers, GIC Dean Prof Yang Ming-xing (楊明星院長教授), Prof Yin Zuowei (尹作為教授), Prof Andy Shen (沈錫田教授), Prof Ren Lu (盧靭教授) and Prof Ronghong Zhang (張榮紅教授) at the GIC International Jewellery Academic Annual Conference. They have a positive feedback to what IAJMPP had done so far. It was very encouraging.
