The first IAJMPP Seminar in the 2018 HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show in March 2018

IAJMPP was honoured to be invited by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council(HKTDC) to organise a seminar on “A New and Contemporary Jewellery Design Approach: Integration of Hand Craftsmanship and Digital Craftsmanship” at the 2018 Hong Kong International Jewellery Show on 3 March 2018. The seminar contained two sessions, the first session was presented by our co-founder Mr Evert DeGraeve. The topic of his presentation was “Creating Authentic Jewellery Designs by Integration of Vision and Hands Anchored at the Heart of Designer-Maker”. Mr DeGraeve shared one of his distinct projects as an example with the audiences. The themed product, The Brooklyn Bridge – a famous landmark in New York –has been revealed with the aid of the on-site demonstration. The second session was presented by Dr Alexandru Bunii, our distinguished honorary adviser from Romania. The topic of his presentation was “New Horizons of Digital Craftsmanship – Ways of Freeing Jewellery Designing Process from Materialized Restrictions”.

The panel discussion was moderated by Dr Norman Siu, co-founder. Speakers included Mr Evert DeGraeve, fine jeweller and co-founder of IAJMPP, Dr Alexandru Bunii, award winning jewellery concept designer, Mr David Lehmann, director of 3DESIGN from Gravotech Group and Mr Max Lam, committee member of International Jewellery Designer Association.
The seminars covered the roles of authentic hand-crafted jewellery design that was the foundation of the industry, along with new digital design methods that were free of material restrictions. The seminars received with incredible acclamation and great success.
